Driving my passion

Bangalore. It is around 7:30 PM in the evening, and after driving for almost 1.5 hours from my office,  I am on a slightly steep T-junction road in BTM. Since this junction neither has a traffic control signal nor a cop, it is prone to traffic jams due to haphazard movement of vehicles. Like on most other days, even today, I am stuck in a jam here while I am waiting to take a right turn and head in the direction of the my kiddo's day care. And just when I am thinking on how to avoid feeling annoyed at the delay, my mobile rings - I get a call from a friend. I am happy to get diverted from the traffic chaos, and begin talking to her.  At the same time, I am effortlessly controlling my car from sliding backwards on the slope. That's when it suddenly dawns upon me that last year, around the same time, I was such a fearful driver. Leave alone driving in the night, and simultaneously speaking on mobile, I would be scared to take the car out even in the broad daylight. Immediatel

A trip to the heavens

What should I call this experience… educative, re-energizing, fun-filled, exciting or adventurous? Aww! It’s so difficult to describe this experience in one word. It was all of it and much more! I had been on a Yoga Retreat conducted by Yogavijnana at Hosagadde, Shimoga district for 3 days during the long weekend of I-day. We were a group of eight from Yogavijnana. All excited, we started from Bangalore on the night of 14 th  Aug in a tempo traveler for Hosagadde. Since most Bangaloreans were heading out on the long weekend, it took us 1.5 hours to hit the outskirts of the city. As I kept staring at the traffic, lost in thoughts, I already had a feeling that this was not going to be like any regular holiday.  By the time I woke up around 6 in the morning, we wer

Rays of hope

Simply mesmerizing, illuminating, brightening, enlightening, spirit-raising and yet, so quiet and serene; alm and peaceful, be other than a beatiful  what else can it be other than a beautiful Sunrise! I must admit that, I got extremely lucky since I happened to witness one such Splendid Sunrises over a Lake, and that too merely by chance.   Away from the chaos and hustle-bustle of Bangalore city, I was at a town place called Gulbarga for two days on a friend's wedding (Feb 2014). Being an early-riser, I woke up well before the break of the dawn even though I did not have any routine chores to do. I like to wake up early to experience the quiet, it is the only time when I get some exclusive 'me-time', when I can be with self, when I have time to contemplate on my thoughts and sketch a plan for the rest of the day. Since I was new to this place, I decided on spending the early hour with myself by taking a stroll across the streets just to feel the cool breeze and explor
